
Legends Fall to GreenJackets in Game Two

SRP PARK (North Augusta, SC) - The Lexington Legends were unable to make up a two-run deficit and fell to the Augusta GreenJackets, 2-1. The Legends overall record now falls to 7-2 and the GreenJackets improve to 6-3.
After a come from behind win by the Legends last night, the GreenJackets were sure to lead the Legends early. In the second inning, Orlando Garcia and Shane Matheny reached on back-to-back singles. With two runners on, Rob Calabrese grounded to the third baseman, Dennnicher Carrasco who threw to second for the force out. Calabrese then advanced to second on a wild pitch by Collin Snider. A two-run single by Jean Angomas plated the only runs of the game and the GreenJackets led 2-0.
The Legends only run of the ballgame came in the sixth. Oliver Nunez and Vance Vizcaino hit back-to-back groundouts to start the inning. New addition to the Legends, Cal Jones, then roped a double to left field. Nick Pratto stepped up and hit an RBI double to left field, scoring Jones and putting the Legends on the board, 2-1.
Collin Snider got his second start of the season for the Legends and tossed 5.2 innings. He allowed two runs on six hits while walking one and striking out one. Vance Tatum pitched 2.1 innings of hitless relief for Lexington. He walked one and struck out three. Jose Marte earned the win for the GreenJackets tossing 6.0 innings allowing one run on four hits while striking out six.
The Legends and GreenJackets meet again tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m at SRP Park. The Legends will send LHP Daniel Tillo, 0-0, 0.00 ERA and RHP Joey Marciano 1-0, 1.80 ERA will pitch for the GreenJackets.
The Legends return to Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Thursday, April 19 at 6:05 p.m. to face the Hagerstown Suns. The Legends, a Class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and member of the South Atlantic League, play all home games at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, Kentucky.
