
Legends Drop Game Two to Drive

WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - The Lexington Legends fell in game two to the Greenville Drive 9-7. The Legends remain in first place of the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League.
The Legends plated their first run in the top of the first inning. Jeison Guzman led off with a double to right centerfield then scored on an RBI double by Nick Pratto and Lexington led 1-0. With Pratto at second, Sebastian Rivero grounded out to the first baseman and Pratto moved to third. Cal Jones then doubled home Pratto and the Legends led 3-0.
The Drive answered in the bottom of the first inning. Kervin Suarez drew a leadoff walk then stole second base. A throwing error by Lexington then allowed Suarez to move to third. Tanner Nishioka then popped up a sacrifice fly to center field and the Drive was on the board 3-1.
In the bottom of the second inning, Jordan Wren singled to second base then moved to second base when Frankie Rios drew a walk. Kervin Suarez then singled home Wren and Rios and the game was tied 3-3.
The Drive took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Nishioka led off with a single to right field then moved to third on a double by Pedro Castellenos. Jordan Wren then grounded out to the second baseman allowing Nishsioka to score and Greenville led 4-3.
Jeison Guzman then hit a solo homer to right field tying the game, 4-4.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Samuel Miranda drew a leadoff walk then advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Suarez. Jarren Duran smacked an RBI single to left field and Miranda scored. Nishioka blasted a two run home run to center field and Greenville led 7-4.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Suarez led off with a home run to right field and the Drive led 8-4.
The Legends then capitalized on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth inning. Sebastian Rivero led off with a single to left field then moved to third on a force out at first base. A wild pitch by Juan Florentio allowed Rivero to score.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Jarren Duran reached on a fielding error by the shortstop, Jeison Guzman. Castellanos then brought home Duran and Greenville led 9-6.
Pratto blasted his 13th home run of the season and the Legends pulled within two, 9-7.
Lukas Young was awarded the victory pitching 3.0 shutout innings allowing two hits while walking two. Danny Hrbek was given the loss tossing 3.0 innings allowing four runs on five hits while walking two and striking two.
The Legends and Drive meet again tomorrow, September 2 at 6:05 p.m. Both pitchers at TBD.
