
Legends Drop Game Three in Front of Sell out Crowd

WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - In front of a sold out crowd of 7,102 fans the Lexington Legends could not complete the comeback facing the Greensboro Grasshoppers and fell 5-2. The Legends continue to hold on to the top spot in the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League.
Greensboro was first to strike in the top of the first inning. Connor Kaiser reached on a fielder's choice then scored on a two-run home run by Mason Martin and the Grasshoppers were on the board, 2-0.
In the top of the first inning, Zac Susi and Pat Dorrian reached on back-to-back base knocks. Lolo Sanchez then doubled them both home, extending Greensboro's lead, 4-0. Sanchez scored on an RBI groundout by Zach Kone and the Grasshoppers led, 5-0.
The Legends then went on to go deep twice in the seventh inning. Chase Vallot blasted his fourth homer of the season, putting Lexington on the board 5-1. Juan Carlos Negret then smashed one 383ft, making it a 5-2 ballgame.
Brad Case was awarded the victory tossing 6.0 shutout innings allowing one hit while striking out three. Tyler Gray was given the loss pitching 4.0 innings allowing five runs on eight hits with two strike outs.
The Legends now welcome in the Greenville Drive with the first of the four-game series beginning tomorrow, April 25 at 7:05pm at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
