
Legends' Comeback Falls Short of Skyforce

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends forged a fourth quarter comeback but were unable to defeat the Sioux Falls Skyforce, falling 126-138.
Andre Dawkins posted 20 points in the first quarter, but the Legends spread the scoring out amongst 8 players tying up the game at 34. The tide turned in the second as the Legends were outrebounded 17-8 and outscored to go into halftime down 54-69. The third quarter saw the largest lead of the night as the Skyforce went up by 23 before the Legends began to respond. Damion James added 15 points and Booker Woodfox came off the bench to add 10 as the Legends shot 52% fighting to come back. Woodfox hit a jumper with just over a minute to play to bring the Legends within 8, but Tyler Johnson responded immediately with a 3-pointer that would set the tone to the finish line.
Damion James led the Legends in scoring, rebounds and assists with 27 points, 13 boards and 7 assists. Ivan Johnson and Booker Woodfox each posted season-highs with 26 and 20 points respectively. Eric Griffin added another full-spread game with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots.
Dawkins posted a season-high 42 points, shooting 12-of-15 from beyond the arc. Tyler Johnson followed closely with 31, while Shawn Jones (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Larry Drew (17 points, 11 assists) each added double-doubles.
