Texas Legends News Release

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Texas Legends (6-11) fought back from a 23-point deficit in the second half but ran out of time in the comeback falling to the Ontario Clippers (11-9) 101-107.

The Clippers started off on a slow 6-0 run before Texas made it onto the boards. The Legends had it tied up minutes later and held a two-point advantage with just under two left in the first, but a 9-3 run to the buzzer put Ontario on top 24-20. The Clippers continued their hot streak in the second, opening the quarter with a 10-0 run to set the stage for what would be their largest lead of the game (+23) before halftime.

Ontario's dominance continued in the third, leaving Texas to face a 21-point deficit opening the fourth. A 12-point streak midway through put the Legends within three but five quick points from Moussa Diabate helped put the Clippers back in double-digit range. Grant Riller brought the difference down to six with a long ball, but the clock favored the home team giving them a 1-0 lead on the season series.

Tyler Dorsey knocked down 60% outside to lead the Legends with 28 points, 5 rebounds, while Riller added 22 points, 4 assists. Taze Moore grabbed his seventh double-double of the season with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and Todd Withers had the Legends' high 11 rebounds off the bench.

The Clippers had six players finish with double-digits led by Nate Darling with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and Diabate with 20 points, 18 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

The Legends have one more game before the All-Star break, taking on the Santa Cruz Warriors tomorrow at 9:00pm CT. Fans can catch all the action live on www.TexLegends.com.
