Legends Come up Short in OT

SALT LAKE CITY, UT - The Texas Legends (19-16) were unable to close out the Salt Lake City Stars (23-10) in an overtime matchup, falling 0-4 in the extra minutes to finish the night 108-112.
Yudai Baba gave Texas the first points from the free throw line. Mike Scott responded quickly with a long ball and the two began their back-and-forth. After six lead changes, Texas landed on top and built their largest lead of the night (+8) seconds before the first buzzer. The Stars tied it up four times in the second, but Texas built back up to their eight-point advantage with just under three minutes to play. Rodney Pryor was the last to make one before the break sending the teams to the locker room with Texas clinging to a 57-54 edge.
Three minutes into the third, a 9-0 run put the Stars back on top. The final two minutes saw four lead changes before the two entered the fourth tied 78-all. Salt Lake City opened the fourth firing, putting up seven points before the Legends got on the board. Cameron Payne tied it up for Texas at the end of the third and grabbed the Legends (what would be) their last lead of the game. Missed free throws in the final seconds helped Texas stay close, and Aric Holman sank a three-ball for the game's final make to send it into overtime.
The extra time proved too short for Texas as Justin Wright-Foreman made the first basket and Scott pulled the game away at the free throw line.
Payne led all scorers with 28 points, while adding 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and a game-high and team season-high 7 steals. Moses Brown and Yudai Baba each added 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 block, and Dakota Mathias finished with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Antonius Cleveland also came one board short of a double-double with 11 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Trahson Burrell rounded out the double-digit scorers coming off the bench for 10 points, 3 rebounds.
Jarrell Brantley fueled the Stars with the game's only double-double of 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists. Trevon Bluiett added 23 points, 3 assists, and Wright-Foreman came off the bench for 17 points shooting 7-of-10 from the field.
