SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars defeated the Texas Legends 112-108 tonight at home in an overtime thriller.
The Stars were led by Utah Jazz two-way player Jarrell Brantley, who posted 26 points on 10-of-15 (.667) from the field and 3-of-6 (.500) from beyond the arc to go with game-highs of 14 rebounds and eight assists. The forward tallied his fourth consecutive 20-point game and fifth double-double (second 20/10 game) of the season. Trevon Bluiett tallied 23 points, knocking down 4-of-8 (.500) from long distance, while Jazz two-way player Justin Wright-Foreman added 17 points on 7-of-10 (.700) shooting from the floor.
The Legends were paced by Cameron Payne, who scored a game-high 28 points to go with seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists. Yudai Baba and Portland Trail Blazers two-way player Moses Brown added 14 a-piece, while Dakota Mathias finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
There were 13 lead changes and nine ties in the first three quarters, with both teams holding 78 points going into the final frame. Salt Lake City looked to be pulling away as they opened the fourth quarter on a 7-0 run, but Texas closed the gap down the stretch to tie the game at 108-all to force overtime. The Stars outscored the Legends 4-0 in the two-minute extra period to secure the victory and up their overtime record to 6-0 this season.
The Stars will travel to southern California to face the South Bay Lakers (LA Lakers affiliate) on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. (MT). The game, which is Salt Lake City's final contest before the break, will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
