Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO - When Donnie Nelson announced the name of the Dallas Mavericks NBA Development League team, he commented "The name 'Texas Legends' is a celebration of those who've sacrificed greatly and achieved the honorable." Friday night against the Springfield Armor, the Legends honor an organization that has taken on a tremendous challenge - 4U Academy (www.fouruacademy.org).
"Thanks to Donnie Nelson and the Texas Legends for allowing us this opportunity to work with them," commented 4U Academy Director Brent Carmichael. "We are excited to spread the word about 4U, and continue to raise awareness about autism - a condition that affects one out of 60 children. I hope that folks will come out and support 4U and the Legends as they plan to defeat the Springfield Armor."
The Legends will wear customized jerseys celebrating 4U Academy, uniquely branded with both the Legends logo and 4U Academy logo. Select jerseys will be available via a silent auction during the game, with all proceeds going back to 4U Academy. As part of the festivities of the night, select individuals from 4U Academy will be recognized as "Legends of the Night."
The Legends face the Brooklyn Nets affiliate at 7 pm on April 5. The game will be broadcast on TXA21.
