
Late Surge Leads Iowa Over Reno, 107-102

DES MOINES, Iowa-The Reno Bighorns held a big second-half lead but could not hold on for the second-straight day, as they fell to Iowa, 107-102, on Sunday afternoon in Wells Fargo Arena.
Trailing by three at halftime, Reno opened the second half on a 28-8 run, giving them a 17-point lead midway through the third quarter. Iowa would answer with a 17-4 run of their own, cutting the Bighorns lead to four points heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth, the two teams traded jabs through most of the quarter. With the game knotted at 97 with less than two minutes to play, Iowa went on an 8-2 run to take a 105-99 lead that it would not relinquish, handing Reno its third-straight loss overall and second-straight against the Energy.
Marcus Landry led Reno with 33 points, tying D.J. Strawberry's team-season-high. Golden State Warriors assignee Jeremy Lin added a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Curtis Stinson paced Iowa with 29 points and nine assists, while Courtney Sims chipped in with 12 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Othyus Jeffers recorded a double-double as well, scoring 24 points and adding 11 rebounds.
Reno concludes its road trip Wednesday morning against the Austin Toros. Tip-time is set for 9 a.m. PT., and the game can be seen live on NBA Futurecast online at nba.com/dleague. The Bighorns return home on Friday, January 28, against the Bakersfield Jam. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. PT, and tickets are on sale now.
