Late Rally Leads Red Wings to Win
August 11, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
Rochester salvaged a split of the two game series with the PawSox at Frontier Field with a 5-3 win on Saturday night. Pawtucket rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game before the Wings scored three times against Daniel Bard in the bottom of the eighth. The PawSox fall to 66-55. Scranton won in Buffalo, so the PawSox are a game and a half out of first in the North division.
Steven Wright allowed a pair of runs in the first, but pitched well after that. Wright, compensation in the Lars Anderson trade, worked 5 innings. Josh Fields tossed a pair of scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Bard (2-1) took the loss.
Che-Hsuan Lin, Mauro Gomez and Dan Butler knocked in the Pawtucket runs. The Sox will be in Buffalo next for a two game series that begins on Sunday night at 6:05 p.m. Zach Stewart (3-2) faces Jennry Mejia (1-2).
