Late Manchester goal evens series

The Providence Bruins and Manchester Monarchs played Game 4 of their best-of-seven Atlantic Division Semifinals series on Wednesday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence, with the Monarchs taking a 3-2 decision on a goal scored with 48 seconds remaining in regulation. The series, which is now even at 2-2, continues with Game 5 on Thursday night in Manchester at 7:05 p.m. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550 and online at www.providencebruins.com.

Bruin left wing Tomas Kurka scored his third goal of the series in the first period, while defenseman Milan Jurcina tied the game at 2-2 on his first career playoff goal at 12:20 of the third period.

Providence goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 24 shots in taking the loss.

The Bruins will host Game 6 on Saturday, April 30 at 7:05 p.m. Should a deciding Game 7 be necessary, it will be played in Manchester on Monday, May 2 at 7:05 p.m. Round 1 of the Calder Cup Playoffs is sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts, The Martone Group and National City Mortgage.

Playoff tickets for Game 6 of the Atlantic Division Semifinals go on sale on Thursday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m. Playoff tickets can be purchased at the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office and all TicketMaster outlets (401-331-2211; 508-931-2000).
