Modesto Nuts News Release
Modesto, CA. - In the Modesto Nuts' sixth straight loss, they could not hold a late lead and fall 4-2 against the Stockton Ports on Wednesday night at John Thurman Field.
The loss sinks the Nuts (59-56; 26-19) into a tie for first place with the Ports (59-56) in the Wild Card Standings and the Nuts will need a win on Thursday night to avoid a sweep.
With a one-run advantage entering the seventh, Melvin Mercedes tied the game for the Ports with a two-out, infield, RBI single against Konner Wade. Wade worked seven innings with just three hits leading to two runs, only one of which was earned.

Sam Bragg (W, 7-2) worked three scoreless frames out of the bullpen for the Ports allowing just one hit and striking out four.
