(Burlington-IA)- Luis Perez crushed a two run home run to left, breaking a tie in the 12th inning, as the Peoria Chiefs defeated the Burlington Bees 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Community Field.

Chiefs' starting pitcher Rob Kaminsky sat down the first nine hitters he faced before Kody Waves collected the first hit of the game for the Bees. A double play would erase the single and Kaminsky continued his scoreless outing.

Garrett Nuss was equally impressive, throwing five scoreless innings, keeping the game scoreless through into the bottom of the fifth.

Ryan Dalton earned a one out in the bottom of the fifth inning and then moved to second on a Tyler Palmer bunt single. A wild pitch moved the runners into scoring position with one out. Cambric Moye hit a grounder to third that scored Ryan Dalton thanks to a high throw to the plate, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead.

Peoria tied the game in the seventh, thanks to a sacrifice fly from Michael Schulze, making the score 1-1.

Peoria tied the game again, this time in the eighth inning, on throwing error that allowed Justin Ringo to score, making it a 2-2 game.

It would remain deadlocked at two until the 12th inning when Luis Perez crushed a two run homer, giving the Chiefs the lead for the first time, at 4-2.

With one out in the bottom of the first inning, Cambric Moye mashed a homer to left, pulling the Bees to within one at 4-3. The Bees could not finish the rally, dropping game three of the four game series.

Reliever Josh Lucas (1-0) notched the win, while Bees' reliever Alex Blackford (0-2) was charged with the loss. Zach Loraine (8) picked up the save.

The Burlington Bees (50-42) and the Peoria Chiefs (52-40) wrap up their four game series on Monday at 6:30 PM. Daniel Hurtado makes the start for the Bees, against Arturo Reyes for Peoria.
