Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's stretched their winning streak to six games on Thursday night while kicking a off three-game road trip with a 3-2 win over the Niagara IceDogs.
Tye Felhaber and Graeme Clarke scored for Ottawa in the second period, while Sasha Chmelevski gave Ottawa the win with a goal in the dying minutes of the game.
A scoreless first period was followed by an action packed second.
Felhaber opened the scoring with his 12th of the year midway through the period before Clarke added to his team's tally just about two minutes later. The IceDogs answered with back-to-back goals of their own from Kirill Maksimov and Kyen Sopa.
In a game that seemed destined for overtime, the 67'd rallied and came away with the win thanks to Chmelevski's late heroics.
Cedrick Andree stopped 30 shots for Ottawa while Stephen Dillon was kept busy in Niagara's net, facing 44 shots.
Next up for the 67's on this road trip are visits to Erie (Saturday, September 20) and Mississauga (Sunday, September 21). Ottawa's next home is October 26 when the 67's host the London Knights for Friday Night Live!
