Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - In a back-and-forth scoring battle, the Bakersfield Condors took tonight's game from the Las Vegas Wranglers with a final score of 4-3 after delays, overtime and a shootout.
Ice resurfacing issues at Rabobank Arena delayed the game almost two hours, and the puck finally dropped an hour and 47 minutes after the scheduled start time. Just 1:42 into the game, Wranglers defenseman Channing Boe scored with the first shot on goal for Las Vegas, giving the team a brief 1-0 lead before Condors forward Parker Stanfield tied it up 1-1 less than two minutes later. On a 5-3 man advantage for the Wranglers midway through the first, center Scott Campbell regained a 2-1 lead for Las Vegas as the team went on to out-shoot Bakersfield 16 to nine.
Right as a Bakersfield power play came to an end early in the second, Condors forward Evan Trupp tallied a goal to knot the game 2-2. Las Vegas once again took the lead nine minutes later on a goal from left wing Adam Miller, and ended the period up 3-2 with a 31-17 shot advantage. Scoring again in the first few minutes of the third, Trupp notched his second goal of the night for Bakersfield and brought it to a 3-3 game. Both Condors goalie Matt Keetley and Wranglers goalie Mitch O'Keefe held the rest of the period scoreless, and without any goals in overtime, the game turned to a shootout. The Condors took the game with a final score of 4-3 after Trupp and left wing Kyle Calder scored, and Wranglers center Eric Lampe tallied the lone shootout goal for Las Vegas.
Las Vegas takes on the Ontario Reign tomorrow afternoon with a puck drop at 2:05 p.m. Fans can also skate with the Wranglers for free after tomorrow's game. Tonight's full box score can be found here .
