Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, N.J. - It was a long time coming, but a 4-2 Trenton Titans victory over ECHL Atlantic rival Elmira Sunday afternoon was satisfying, .

The Titans (16-25-3-4-39) played a consistent 60 minutes before 3,011 fans at the Sun National Bank Center, frustrated the Jackals (27-17-2-2-58) in recording their first win since Jan. 27 and first triumph at home since Jan. 22.

"It was a gritty effort,'' said Titans head coach Vince Williams. "We took care of what we had to take care of when we needed to.''

Dustin Cameron scored a pair of goals - his 12th and 13th - and added an assist in earning the First Ace. Steve Silva recorded a goal - his fifth - and an assist to earn the Second Ace. Andy Bohmbach, who scored an empty-net goal with 35 seconds remaining, also contributed an assist, while Rob Bordson had a pair of assists.

And the effort of goalie Brad Phillips, just back from Adirondack, stopped 29-of-31 shots and allowed just two power-play goals. He is 2-2 vs. the Jackals.

"Watching (Adirondack goalie) Michael Leighton for two games, just how he does things and his approach helped me,'' said Phillips.

Next on the agenda for the Titans is their Educational Day game against rival Reading at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Another home tilt with the Royals is on tap for Friday evening.
