Late Efforts Fall Short

Madison Stokes ripped a two-run double down the right field line, in an effort to spark an 8th inning rally, which came up short. Stokes finished the night 1 for 3 with his first triple and first two RBI.

Jesus Henriquez recorded the only other Cutters RBI with a sacrifice fly in the 8th inning, scoring Stokes. He finished 0 for 3 with the RBI, a night after recording four hits.

Ethan Lindow factored into his first decision, unfortunately it was his first loss of the season. Allowing two runs over five innings of work. The lefty allowed five hits and three walks while striking out a season-high nine.

Austin Ross allowed two runs in an inning of relief and Abdallah Aris allowed one run over 2.1 innings of work. The two combined to allow seven walks, as the Cutters pitchers walked a season-high 10 batters in the loss.

Jose Jimenez entered with the bases loaded and one out in the top of the 9th , retiring both batters he faced, striking out one. Cutters pitching struck out 14 batters, two shy of their season-high.
