Sharp, Bullpen Strong But 'Clones Fall 6-1 to IronBirds

ABERDEEN, MD (July 11, 2018) - Brian Sharp blasted a solo home run, and the bullpen tossed 7 1/3 terrific innings but the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets were defeated by the Aberdeen Ironbirds 6-1 Wednesday night in the series opener at Ripken Stadium.

BIG MOMENTS

Trailing 4-0, Brian Sharp lined a home run over the right field fence to put the Cyclones on the board in the fifth.

Abderdeen scored four runs in the first against Brooklyn starter Briam Campusano who lasted just 2/3 of an inning, the shortest outing of his career. Adam Hall's two-run single highlighted the frame.

Cyclones relievers Billy Oxford, Ryan Selmer, Tommy Wilson, and Yeudy Colon combined to toss 7 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run, striking out six.

Yeudy Colon has tossed 7.2 scoreless innings, the longest such streak by a Cyclones reliever this season.

Brooklyn has dropped all four meetings with Aberdeen.
