
Late Dayton Goal Takes 4-3 Win At Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Dayton Bombers forward Jeff Hristovski's second goal of the night with 2:09 remaining broke a 3-3 tie and handed the Cincinnati Cyclones a 4-3 loss. Despite the loss, the Cyclones still hold a two games to one lead in the best of seven series in the North Division finals. Lost in the defeat was a two goal game from Cincinnati center Barett Ehgoetz.
The Cyclones opened the scoring 15:56 into the frame when Barett Ehgoetz notched his first goal of the playoffs. Ehgoetz scooped up a rebound from Adam Berkhoel and lit the lamp. Travis LIsabeth and Mike Wirll added the assists. Dayton would tie the game before the period ended when Jeff Hristovski gathered his first goal of the postseason at 17:26. Tim Konsorada and Paul Kelley added the assists. Cincinnati held a 14-2 shots on goal advantage in the first ten minutes and would hold a 16-10 edge after the first frame.
The second period saw a flurry of goals scored. The Cyclones took a 2-1 lead when Jason Deitsch netted his fourth of the postseason at 1:36, with Mathieu Aubin and Sam Ftorek adding the helpers. Dayton knotted the game at 2-2, when Yannick Tifu collected his third of the playoffs at 3:32, as Brent Walton had the assist. Dayton took the lead for the first time when Paul Kelly netted his third at 7:48. Brad Farynuk added the assist. A Cyclones power play goal at 11:39 from Ehgoetz, his second of the night and second of the playoffs tied the score. Ftorek and Rory Rawlyk picked up the assists.
The lone goal of the third period came from Hristovski, his second of the night and second of the Kelly Cup playoffs. The tally at 17:51 was a deflection of a pass from Lane Manson for the game winner. The shots favored Dayton, 8-7, in the final frame. The Bombers held the edge in shots for the game, 32-28.
Cedrick Desjardins stopped 28 shots in the loss, his first of the postseason, while Adam Berkhoel turned aside 25 shots in the triumph.
Game four happens tomorrow (Saturday, April 28) at 7:30pm, also at U.S. Bank Arena. Game five will be played at U.S. Bank Arena on Monday, April 30 at 7:30pm.
