Wranglers Fall To Idaho 4-3, Trail Series 3-1

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Idaho Steelheads 4-3 on Thursday night in front of 3,814 fans at the Orleans Arena. The Wranglers now trail the best-of-seven series with Idaho 3-1. The Wranglers face elimination tomorrow night in a must-win Game Five at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' forward Tyler Mosienko scored twice for Las Vegas in the loss. Steelheads' forward Lance Galbraith scored twice for Idaho in the victory. Wranglers' goalie Mike McKenna stopped 26 of 29 shots in the loss. Idaho goalie Steve Silverthorn picked up his seventh win in the playoffs stopping 25 of 28 Wranglers shots. The Wranglers will host the Steelheads tomorrow in Game Five of the National Conference Semi-Finals at the Orleans Arena at 7:05pm.

In the first period, Las Vegas scored first when Jason Jozsa scored his first goal of the playoffs on the power play, giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead.

In the second period, Idaho tied the game when Lance Galbraith scored his first goal of the night at 6:01. Galbraith scored again, his ninth of the playoffs, on a deflection that got past Wranglers' goalie Mike McKenna, giving the Steelheads a 2-1 advantage. Idaho's BJ Crombeen tallied a power-play goal with 55-seconds remaining in the second period to give the Steelheads a 3-1 lead after two periods.

In the third period, Las Vegas climbed back to within a goal with Tyler Mosienko's fifth goal of the playoffs making the score 3-2. After killing off a four-minute power play, the Wranglers pulled goaltender Mike McKenna, and Idaho's Marty Flichel fired a shot into the empty net giving the Steelheads a 4-2 lead. Wranglers' forward Tyler Mosienko would score with five seconds remaining for the final score of 4-3.
