Last call: cheerleader auditions begin tomorrow

Montreal, February 15, 2005 - Young women interested in becoming cheerleaders with the Montreal Alouettes have one last day to subscribe for the auditions. From Feb.16 to 23, candidates will be evaluated and those who will qualify for the final will be invited to the final on Feb. 27 at Pro-Gym, located at 4500 Hochelaga East.

There will be three pre-selection dates: Feb. 16, 21 and 23 from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Pro-Gym. Interested candidates can find a subscription form on the Alouettes' website at www.montrealalouettes.com which they must complete and mail to Annie Larouche at the Alouettes' office before Feb. 16, 2005, along with a recent picture and a cheque for $10. The forms are also available at the Alouettes' office located at 1260 University, 1st floor.

Hockey

The Alouettes' hockey team won another game last Sunday at the Gadbois Arena. Paul Lambert scored four goals in the win. Part of the profits was donated to the Red Cross in order to help the Tsunami victims. Next game is this Saturday, Feb. 19, at 2:30 p.m. at the Palais des Sports in Jonquière.

Basket-ball

The Alouettes' basketball team continues its grade school tour of the region. Tour organizer Barron Miles dominates on the basketball court while Rob Brown is developing a ''bad boy'' reputation and Anthony Calvillo is the champion of basketball's version of the Hail Mary. Players have already visited eight of 33 schools.
