
Las Vegas Receives Rookie Winger Back From Iowa

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that right wing Kelly Czuy (pronounced - Chewy) has been returned by the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League. In separate moves, center Aki Seitsonen was placed on the three-day injured reserve, left wing Ryan Donally was transferred to the seven-day injured reserve and right wing Sean O'Connor was moved to the 30-day injured reserve list.
Czuy returns to Las Vegas after a ten-game stint with the Dallas Stars affiliate. The rookie forward posted three assists and four penalty minutes with Iowa. Prior to joining the Stars, Czuy scored 11 goals and dished out four assists for 15 points in 39 games with the Wranglers. Czuy racked up 78 penalty minutes and tied for the team lead with one shorthanded goal. The Edmonton, AB native missed 18 games this season from November 8th to December 28th with a broken wrist. Before turning pro, Czuy played four seasons at the University of Alaska- Fairbanks, posting 39 goals and adding 45 assists for 84 points in 144 collegiate games.
The Wranglers are still waiting to find out who their opponent will be in the second round of the 2007 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Las Vegas eliminated Phoenix in the first round by taking the first four games. Las Vegas will face either Idaho or Fresno in the National Conference Semi-Finals. The second round series is expected to start as early as Monday. Due to building availability issues at the Orleans Arena, the Wranglers do not know their second round playoff schedule regardless of the opponent. An announcement is expected within in the next few days.
