Titans Season Ends After 1-0 Loss To Bombers

April 19, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ (April 19, 2007) - Trevor Frischmon's goal with 3:32 remaining in the final frame and Adam Berkhoel's 30 saves sent the Trenton Titans away with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Dayton Bombers on Thursday at the Sovereign Bank Arena.

Facing a must-win situation, the Titans came out flying, outshooting the Bombers 16-8, but could not get the puck past Berkhoel. Both teams would get their chances throughout a contest that turned into a goaltenders duel as Joel Martin - 27 of 28 saves - blanked Dayton through almost 56 minutes of hockey.

The game's first and only goal came at 16:28 of the third when Frischmon led a 2-on-1 into the Trenton zone and fired a perfectly placed wrist shot off the near post and into the net.

The Titans would be unable to muster the game-tying tally despite a late-power play and an extra-attacker and so their season comes to an end after a 3-0 sweep in the best-of-five North Division Semifinal.

Trenton finished the match 2-for-2 on the penalty kill and 0-for-5 on the man-advantage.

The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL - North America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans are owned and operated by the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils.
