
Las Vegas 51s Return To Cashman Field For Eight Games

LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will return to Cashman Field to open an eight-game home stand on Monday, June 26, against the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, at 7:05 p.m. The home stand will run through Monday, July 3.
The 51s, under manager Jerry Royster, are currently on a 10-game road trip that will conclude on Sunday in Tucson, Ariz. The 51s, 38-36, are in second place in the Pacific Conference Southern Division.
The 51s will host Tacoma in a four-game series from Monday-Thursday, June 26-29 with all games at 7:05 p.m. Dollar Hot Dog Night will be featured on Wednesday and Budweiser Dollar Beer Night will once again be presented in the series finale on Thursday.
Las Vegas will then host the hottest team in the league, the Tucson Sidewinders, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, over the July 4th Holiday weekend. The four-game series is from Friday-Monday, June 30 "" July 3. The Sidewinders have the best record in the PCL at 46-28(.622) and are in first place in the Pacific Southern Division.
The Sidewinders' roster boasts the top prospects in all of the Diamondbacks' farm system. Shortstop Stephen Drew, younger brother of L.A. Dodgers J.D. Drew, is ranked as the No. 1 prospect according to Baseball America. The other talented prospects are: Outfielder Carlos Quentin (ranked No. 3), right-handed pitcher Dustin Nippert (No. 5) and right-handed pitcher Micah Owings (No. 9).
The series opener on Friday, June 30 at 7:05 p.m. will feature 51s Mini Bat Night. The mini bat will be given out to the first 2,500 fans in attendance. The third of six Carl's Jr. Family Nights will also be featured. The Carl's Jr. Family Night Deal is a great way for the family to enjoy a night of 51s baseball at the ball park. Game two of the series on Saturday, July 1 at 7:05 p.m. will feature the first of two great Fireworks shows to celebrate the fourth of July. The Holiday Fireworks Show will be presented after the final out.
The Nevada Cancer Institute will also be attendance at Saturday's game. The institute is currently partnered with the SHADE Foundation to provide Sun Safety Outreach programs to Clark County residents. The Nevada Cancer Institute will have an information table located in the concourse level. The goal is to increase awareness of skin cancer through education and to increase prevention and detection activities to help Nevadan's in their fight against skin cancer. Game three of the series will feature a matinee contest on Sunday, July 2 at 12:05 p.m. The home stand will conclude on Monday, July 3 at 7:05 p.m. with the traditional "Fireworks Extravaganza." All tickets for the two "Fireworks Shows" on Saturday, July 1 and Monday, July 3 are $12.00 and sell out crowds are expected for both games.
The 51s will then travel to Portland (July 4-6) and Tucson (July 7-9) for a six-game road trip that leads up to the Triple-A All-Star Break. The all star break will run from Monday-Wednesday, July 10-12. The Triple-A All-Star Game, featuring the International League vs. the Pacific Coast League, will be played on Wednesday, July 12 at 4 p.m. (PDT) at Toledo, Ohio. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN and on radio locally on Fox Sports AM-1460, the "51s Flagship Station."
Tickets for all 51s home games can be purchased at the Cashman Field box office. The box office is open Monday-Friday from Noon to 4:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased through TicketMaster (474-4000, www.ticketmaster.com). TicketMaster outlets are located at Smith's Food & Drug, Tower Records and Robinsons-May, located at The Fashion Show & The Galleria Mall.
The individual game tickets for the 72-game home season are priced at $7.00 (general admission), $9.00 (reserved), $10.00 (plaza) and $12 (field). The traditional $2.00 discount for Military personnel is offered on plaza, reserved and G.A. seats throughout the season except for the Holiday Fireworks shows on July 1 & 3.
