Nashville Sounds News Release

The first-place Nashville Sounds return home Monday after a five-game road trip to host the division-rival Memphis Redbirds (AAA-Cardinals) and the Round Rock Express (AAA-Astros) during an eight-game homestand that concludes on Monday, July 3rd.

The Sounds open their four-game series with the division-rival Redbirds on Monday with the first pitch slated for 7 p.m. The contest marks another H.G. Hill Monday at Greer Stadium, when any fan that presents a H.G. Hill receipt at the Sounds box office will receive one free ticket with the purchase of another ticket, up to four free tickets. Also, hot dog lovers can enjoy dollar hot dogs all game long at every concession stand.

Game two of the four-game series on Tuesday marks the Sounds' fourth Purity Faith Night of the year and one that presents the biggest concert act in the program's eight-year history. Fans can come out early to the ballpark to enjoy a pre-game concert put on by the Grammy-winning band Jars of Clay. The group uses its youthful spirit and creative risk-taking style to give its audience a unique style of Christian music. Opening for Jars of Clay will be well-known Derek Webb. He uses his in-your-face writing style to tackle issues like social justice, politics, and relationships in a brutally honest way. For more information on both these acts, visit their websites at www.jarsofclay.com and www.derekwebb.net.

As part of this special Faith Night, the Sounds have teamed up with the Blood:Water Mission organization to help bring a clean-water well to a town in Kenya, Africa. The Sounds will be accepting donations throughout the pre-game concert and also during the game. It's estimated that if every fan donates one dollar, the Sounds and Jars of Clay will be able to reach their goal of providing clean water for people in a small town in Kenya.

Tuesday is also a GooGoo 2-for-1 Tuesday. Fans that present a UPC label from any flavor GooGoo six-pack will receive a free ticket with the purchase of one ticket of greater or equal price.

After a noon matinee on Wednesday against Memphis, the Sounds will host the finale of the series vs. the Redbirds on Thirsty Thursday, sponsored by 105.7 The Rock. The first pitch is slated for 7 p.m. with gates opening at 5:30. Fans can enjoy dollar draft beverages until 8:30 p.m. or the conclusion of the fifth inning which ever comes first.

On Friday, the Sounds kick off a four-game series with the Round Rock Express along with another Purity Faith Night. The game will start at 7 p.m. and gates will open at 5:30 for the pre-game concert. Denver and the Mile High Orchestra will be making a Faith Night appearance for the third straight year as they supply Sounds fans with pre-game entertainment. Formed at nearby Belmont University, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra is the only nationally-marketed Christian music group with a big band style. For more information on the band, visit its website at www.denvermho.com.

Friday also marks the annual Sounds baseball card set giveaway. The first 2,000 fans that go through the turnstiles will receive a 2006 Sounds baseball card set, courtesy of H.G. Hill. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game to enjoy a spectacular fireworks show, sponsored by Shoney's.

Game two between the Sounds and Express is scheduled for Saturday night at 6 p.m. The first 2,000 fans that enter the gates at Greer Stadium will receive a CMT seat cushion. Fans that come to Saturday's contest will also be able to see another spectacular Shoney's fireworks show.

Sunday marks another Harris Teeter Family Day at the ballpark. Fans that show their Harris Teeter VIC card at the Sounds box office window will enjoy a buy one, get one free ticket special. The first pitch is slated for 6 p.m. Sunday will also play host to the Hyundai Home Run Challenge. Fans can register for a chance to win a new Sonata during the selected Hyundai Home Run inning.

July 3rd marks the final contest of the four-game series with the Sounds and Express facing off at 7 p.m. In honor of the 4th of July, the Sounds will wear special patriotic-themed jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game to support the Nashville Sounds Foundation and its charitable efforts. Fans can stay after the game to enjoy a special Independence Day fireworks show, sponsored by Shoney's.

Following the eight-game homestand, the Sounds will embark on a six-day road trip with a three-game stint in Memphis and another three games in Round Rock. After the six-game road trip is complete, the entire Pacific Coast League will enjoy three days off. During those three days, the PCL will do battle against the International League in the Triple-A All-Star game in Toledo, Ohio.

Individual and season tickets, as well as group packages, are currently on sale. Call (615) 242-4371 ext. 2 or visit the Sounds' website at www.nashvillesounds.com to order or for more information.
