(Edmonton) Eskimo defensive back JR LaRose underwent successful surgery Monday morning to repair a broken tibia and fibula. LaRose broke his leg in the 3rd quarter of the Eskimo-Bomber game on Saturday night at Commonwealth Stadium. The game was stopped for several minutes while medical staff tended to LaRose. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

"We're hoping for the best, we're praying for him and hope it's a good outcome," says Eskimo DB Jonté Buhl. "It's always hard to watch a teammate go down."

"I have seen the play. I mean it's as innocent as you can possibly imagine," says Eskimo Head Coach Danny Maciocia. "We have it under control right now. The process is going to be a long one. He's going to have to rehab it during the off-season. He is young, so we'll see how it all unfolds."

The Eskimos (8-6) head to BC to take on the Lions (9-5) on Friday, October 10 at BC Place. Kick off is at 7:30pm (Pacific). For more information on the Edmonton Eskimos visit our website at www.esks.com.
