CFL names players of the week

Toronto, ON - (October 7, 2008) - Quinton Porter, Cameron Siskowic, Tristan Jackson, and Calvin McCarty were named the CFL's top players for week #15, the Canadian Football League announced today.
Players of the Week are selected for on-field excellence by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
QB - Quinton Porter - Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Montreal Alouettes 38 @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats 44
Highlights / Key Stats:
Quinton Porter led the Tiger-Cats to a 44-38 victory over the East division leading Alouettes in impressive fashion, in only his second CFL start. Porter completed 27 of 32 passes for 429 yards with five touchdown passes and zero interceptions. He also ran for 42 yards on six carries. Porter developed an immediate chemistry with receiver Prechae Rodriguez and the two connected for 198 yards and three touchdowns. Porter's passer efficiency rating of 158.3 is the highest possible score.
On the season Porter has completed 57 of 86 passes for 817 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions. He has a passer efficiency rating of 114.4. Porter has also rushed 19 times for 127 yards this season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LB - Cameron Siskowic - Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Montreal Alouettes 38 @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats 44
Highlights / Key Stats:
Cameron Siskowic recorded six tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery in the Tiger-Cats victory over the Alouettes. Siskowic was a large factor in holding running back Avon Cobourne to only 10 yards on six carries, tackling him five times. Siskowic was also the only Ticat that managed to sack quarterback Anthony Calvillo, reaching him in the middle of the second quarter.
Cameron Siskowic has eight tackles, four special teams tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery in three games this season.

Highlights / Key Stats:
Tristan Jackson returned eight punts for 101 yards including a 67-yard touchdown against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
On the season Tristan Jackson has 1,505 combined yards including 714 punt return yards, 649 kick return yards and 142 missed field goal return yards. He has two punt return touchdowns and a kick return touchdown.

RB - Calvin McCarty - Edmonton Eskimos
Winnipeg Blue Bombers 22 @ Edmonton Eskimos 36
Highlights / Key Stats:
Calvin McCarty continued to shine in the Eskimo offence as they defeated the Blue Bombers 36 to 22 at home. McCarty rushed 19 times for 88 yards and a touchdown and caught eight passes for 80 yards in the Eskimo victory.
Calvin McCarty has 336 rushing yards on 53 attempts with two touchdowns this season. He also has 50 catches for 457 receiving yards.
