Bismarck Larks News Release
The Larks dropped game two of the series against the Duluth Huskies, in a pitchers duel, 4-1, on Star Wars Night, presented by Sanford Health.
Garrett Yawn (Long Island - Brooklyn) got his fourth start at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, home of Dakota Community Bank and Trust Field and pitched an absolute gem.
Yawn dealt a no-hitter through five of the six innings he was on the mound and ended his outing allowing only one base hit. On 99 pitches, Yawn struck out seven batters and allowed only one earned run.
The Duluth Huskies saw an impressive performance on the mound from Jake Combs (Southern Illinois) who went six innings, allowing only four hits and no earned runs. Combs struck out five batters and surrendered only one walk.
Jonathan Vastine (Vanderbilt), Kristian Campbell (Georgia Tech), Eduardo Rosario (Nebraska-Omaha) and Joe Vos (St. Thomas) all finished with RBIs for Duluth, who combined for only three hits all game.
Ryan Curran (Montevallo) made an appearance out of the bullpen for Bismarck and delivered the Metro Area Ambulance Fastest Pitch of the Game at 89 MPH.
At the plate, the Larks combined for six hits and scored only one run on the Huskies pitching staff. Kaiden Cardoso (Minot State) delivered the only RBI for Bismarck that scored Seth Surrett from first base. That RBI double from Cardoso was also the Fetzer Electric Play of the Game.
The Larks hit the road for a six-game road trip as they travel to Willmar for the first time this year to take on the Stingers, who currently lead in the Great Plains West second-half standings.
