Lancers Trade Rauter to Youngstown

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers dealt veteran forward and Cornell University recruit Alex Rauter to the Youngstown Phantoms in exchange for a conditional 2014 USHL draft pick, the team announced Monday.
"Alex is a great player both on and off the ice," said Lancers Head Coach and General Manager Brian Kaufman on Monday. "He's got a bright future ahead of him and we wish him all the best in Youngstown and beyond." In 40 career games played for the Lancers, the Morristown, New Jersey native tallied nine goals and 15 total points, including two goals and two assists in 13 games played this season. Rauter's departure leaves the Lancers with 22 players on the active roster, one below the USHL's 23-man limit.
After a three-game road trip, the Lancers return to Ralston Arena this weekend for a pair of clashes with the Fargo Force on Friday and Saturday with the opening faceoff set for 7:05 pm both nights. On Friday, bring a plush toy to donate during the Lancers' annual "Teddy Bear Toss", presented by Bank of the West, and on Saturday, make it a girls night out with "Wine, Women and Hockey Night", presented by Celerion.
