Ralston, NE - Mitch Perrault scored twice for the Omaha Lancers, including the game-tying goal with under one minute remaining in regulation to eventually force overtime. It was Des Moines though, who came away with the shootout victory in front of 2,546 fans at Ralston Arena on Sunday evening.

Brian Williams gathered a rebound and gave the Lancers a first period lead. After the original shot was denied by Des Moines' goaltender Jan Ruzicka, the puck popped out to the hash marks. Williams let a follow-up shot go that beat Ruzicka on his blocker side for his third goal of the season at 5:10 of the first frame. The goal was assisted by Nick Rivera and Josh French. With the assists, each picked up their third helper of the year.

The Buccaneers took two consecutive penalties later in the first to put Omaha on a two-man advantage. After setting up on the left side, Josh French let a low shot go towards the front of the crease. Mitch Perrault stood in the way and deflected the puck by the glove of Jan Ruzicka to give the Lancers a 2-0 lead on his fourth of the year. The assists were given to French on the shot and Jacob Bryson at 12:39 of the first period.

In the second period it took only 31 seconds for the Buccaneers to pull even. After a shot from the top of the right circle that was stopped by Lancers' goaltender Zackarias Skog, David Keefer followed up from on the rebound from the left wing circle for his second tally of the year at 15:59 of the second period. Keefer's goal was assisted by Ty Pelton-Byce and Brendan Demler.

Just 31-seconds later, Patrick Grasso tied the game on a back-hand goal. While the puck was on the right wing wall, Grasso snuck behind the defense, took a pass, and back-handed the puck over Zackarias Skog and under the cross bar to tie the game 2-2. It was Grasso's sixth goal of the season and third against the Omaha Lancers and came at 16:30 with the lone assist to Georgy Gorodetsky.

Late in the third period Zach Jordan put the Buccaneers ahead on a jam play to the left of the crease. Zackarias Skog laid on his chest trying to pin the puck against the side of the net. At the same time, Jordan came in and jammed the puck just over the goal line to give Des Moines a 3-2 lead with only 1:26 to go in regulation. Nikita Pavlychev and Chris Allemon had the assists.

With just under one minute remaining and the net empty for the Lancers, Mitch Perrault struck again, this time to tie the game back up. Brannon McManus took the puck into the offensive zone while Perrault went around the defense. McManus sent the puck over the defenders stick, right to Perrault, who beat Jan Ruzicka for his second of the night and fifth of the year. The goal came with just 58 seconds left in the game to eventually force overtime.

After no scoring in the extra time, Alec Rauhauser scored in the fifth round of the shootout for the Buccaneers and Hank Crone missed his chance to extend the rounds and Des Moines came away with a 4-3 victory, their first over the Lancers this season.

Goaltender Zackarias Skog stopped 25 of 28 shots in the shootout loss.

The Omaha Lancers are on the road Friday night in Madison, Wisconsin to take on the Capitols inside Alliant Energy Center! The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. and fans can listen live beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the Valpak Pregame Show on "The Mighty" 1290 KOIL, Mighty 1290 KOIL Mobile APP, www.mighty1290koil.com, and FASTHockey.com.
