THE SAN JOSE GIANTS...continue their homestand on Tuesday night with the opener of a three-game series against the Lancaster JetHawks at Municipal Stadium. San Jose won three-of-four games from the Bakersfield Blaze in their most recent series and currently own a 41-23 overall record. The Giants are four games ahead of the Stockton Ports (37-27) for the top spot in the North Division with only six games remaining in the first half. San Jose's magic number (combination of Giants wins and Ports losses) is at three to clinch the division crown. The Giants are attempting to become the first team in California League history to win four consecutive first half titles.

Five Giants Named To All-Star Team...Five San Jose Giants have been named to the California League All-Star team: catcher Pablo Sandoval and starting pitchers Tim Alderson, Jesse English, Kevin Pucetas and Ben Snyder. Sandoval is currently leading the league with a .364 batting average to go with impressive totals of 10 home runs and 47 RBI. A remarkable four starting pitchers from the Giants will also be playing in the All-Star Game. Snyder (2.06) and Pucetas (2.54) own the top two ERA's respectively in the California League. English (2.84) is fifth while Alderson (3.27) is eighth. English paces the club and is second in the league with eight victories. San Jose's five All-Star selections are the most of any team in the California League (Stockton and Lake Elsinore are next with three players each). Steve Decker will manage the California League team when they battle the all-stars from the Carolina League on June 24 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

D'Alessio Climbing The Charts...Giants designated hitter Andy D'Alessio is coming off an outstanding series against the Bakersfield Blaze. In the four games, D'Alessio rapped out 11 hits in 16 at-bats (.688 AVG) to go with nine RBI's. D'Alessio is now tied for seventh in the California League with a .319 batting average and tied for eighth in RBI's (42).

Mooney Promoted...Giants outfielder Mike Mooney was promoted to Fresno (AAA) on June 9. Mooney was batting .273 with five home runs, 16 RBI's and six stolen bases in 33 games played. Additionally, catcher Tyler LaTorre was added to the roster from Extended Spring Training

Home Dominance...The Giants have posted some incredible numbers at Municipal Stadium this year with a league-best 25-7 home record. The pitching staff has compiled a 1.80 ERA and nine shutouts in 32 games. Individually, Snyder (6-0, 0.82 ERA) and Pucetas (4-0, 0.87 ERA) have been the top performers. Offensively, Sandoval and Matt Downs have led the charge at home with .373 and .336 batting averages respectively. San Jose has lost only one series at home this season when they dropped two-of-three games to Visalia, May 9-11.

Graham Off To The Races...San Jose outfielder Tyler Graham has picked up right where he left off since returning from his injury. Graham missed 32 games with a strained oblique before returning to the lineup last Friday against Bakersfield. The speedy outfielder hit safely in all four games versus the Blaze to raise his batting average to .301 and also stole at least one base in each game of the series (five total). Overall, Graham is now 24-for-26 in stolen base attempts through just 25 games played this season. He is tied for third in the California League in steals and also brings a 10-game hitting streak into Tuesday's series opener versus Lancaster.

Lancaster JetHawks...The JetHawks, an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, enter the series in second place in the South Division with a 31-33 record - one game behind the Lake Elsinore Storm for the top spot. Lancaster is first in the California League in team batting average (.284) and home runs (66). However, the JetHawks have struggled offensively while on the road (.254 AVG, 4.8 runs/gm.) and opposed to at home (.310 AVG, 6.0 runs/gm.). Three Lancaster players rank in the top eight in the California League in batting average: #2 Jorge Jimenez (.357), #3 Josh Reddick (.343) and #8 Lars Anderson (.313). The JetHawks will be facing the Giants for the first time this season.
