Lakewood Falls 9-1 in Season Finale

HAGERSTOWN, MD - The 2011 season for the Lakewood BlueClaws is now complete. The BlueClaws fell 9-1 in their final game of the year on Monday to the Hagerstown Suns. Lakewood finishes the season with an overall record of 68-69, and 35-34 in the 2nd half.

In the season finale, Hagerstown brought their bats to the ballpark as they scored 9 runs on 11 hits off of BlueClaws pitching. Lakewood starter Austin Wright had his first bad start as a BlueClaw allowing 5 runs on 5 hits in 3.2 innings. Wright was tagged with the loss to fall to 1-2. Hagerstown starter Matt Swynenberg left after 2.1 scoreless innings with an oblique injury, and Sam Brown got the win out of the bullpen for Hagerstown to move to 4-6.

Carlos Perdomo finished his season on a high note. Lakewood's SS went 2-4 with 2 stolen bases to wrap up his 2011 campaign. Cameron Rupp drove in Zach Collier in the top of the 5th inning for Lakewood's only run of the game.
