Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

HAGERSTOWN, MD - For the second straight day, the Lakewood BlueClaws (35-32) saw a 3 run lead evaporate in the 8th inning. And, for the second straight night the Hagerstown Suns (33-34) beat Lakewood 6-5. The loss is a tough one for the BlueClaws, as they will try to snap their 2 game losing streak on Sunday night in their second to last game of the year.

It was a career night offensively for BlueClaws catcher Cameron Rupp as he went 2-3 with a HR and a career high 5 RBI's. It was the first time Rupp had over 3 RBI's this year, and he drove in all 5 of the BlueClaws runs in the game. Zach Collier was 3-3 for Lakewood, and Jeff Lanning was 1-3 with 3 runs scored.

Lisalberto Bonilla had a great start tossing 5 shutout innings and striking out 5. Mike McGuire got tagged with the loss as he allowed 4 hits and 4 runs over just 1/3rd of an inning. Hagerstown scored 4 times off of McGuire and Ryan Duke in the 8th inning, and dealt the BlueClaws a crushing 6-5 win for the second straight night.

Sunday night the BlueClaws will start LHP Ervis Manzanillo (8-7, 5.16 ERA) in the 2nd to last game of the season for both teams. Hagerstown will counter with RHP AJ Cole (4-7, 4.07 ERA). First Pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm.
