Get ready for the 2012 Summer Olympics! The Lakeshore Chinooks will welcome Olympic Gold Medalist Bonnie Blair to Kapco Park on Sunday, July 15. The Chinooks take on the Eau Claire Express at 5:05 p.m.

Bonnie Blair, a world-record-holding speed skater, is the most decorated woman in Winter Olympics history with five gold medals and one bronze medal. In 1988, Bonnie Blair set a world record and won her first Olympic gold in the 500 meters. She became the first American woman to win five gold medals and the first American of either gender to win gold medals in the same event in three consecutive Olympics.

This Sunday, July 15, the Lakeshore Chinooks are celebrating the upcoming Summer Olympics with an all-Olympic themed night, starting with free autographs and the first pitch by Bonnie Blair. In-between inning entertainment will feature Olympic-sized relay races and contests.

The Lakeshore Chinooks are the newest member of the Northwoods League, a summer wood bat league for college players. The Chinooks roster features top collegiate players from around the country including schools such as University of Florida, University of Arkansas, LSU and other top baseball schools.

The Chinooks will play 35 home games at the new Kapco Park, a state of the art facility on the campus of Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon.

The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in North America. The league has 16 teams in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, and Ontario.

Tickets are $11 for reserved box seats, $8 for reserved grandstands, or $5 for general admission. For tickets, visit www.lakeshorechinooks.com or call 262-618-4659.
