Lakeland Magic Acquire Byron Mullens from Sioux Falls Skyforce

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, announced today that they have acquired NBA veteran Byron Mullens and a fourth-round pick in the 2018 NBA G League Draft from the Sioux Falls Skyforce in exchange for Lakeland's own second-round draft pick in 2018.

Mullens, a 7-0, 270-pound center, has appeared in 189 career NBA games (66 starts) for four different teams. Most recently, he played 45 games in the 2013-14 NBA season with the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers. During his NBA career, he averaged 7.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg, and 1.1 bpg in 18.2 mpg. Mullens was originally drafted 24th overall by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2009 NBA Draft out of Ohio State University.

Mullens has 79 games (65 starts) of NBA G League experience as well. He played 41 games for the Tulsa 66ers on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2009 to 2011, and played 38 games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce between 2014 and 2016. During his G League career, he has averaged 12.8 ppg, 7.2 rpg in 28 mpg. The trade is pending Mullens' physical.
