Los Angeles FC News Release

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) will travel to Florida to take on Eastern Conference side Orlando City SC in Week 27 of MLS play on Saturday, September 7. Tomorrow's match is scheduled to kick off at 4:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on YouTube TV, Univision KVMD, ESPN 710 AM, and 980 AM 'La Mera Mera'.

For the second consecutive week, the Black & Gold will have the chance to secure the top spot in the Western Conference and a first-round bye in the 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs with a win. LAFC has stood in first place in the Supporters' Shield standings since Week 4, and is currently boasting a 19-4-5 record (62 points).

This weekend's contest will mark LAFC's first-ever trip to Orlando to take on the Lions at the recently renamed Exploria Stadium. With goals from Adama Diomande (2), Latif Blessing and Diego Rossi, the Black & Gold earned a 4-1 victory over the Lions in the first and only meeting between the two sides last year on July 7 in Los Angeles.

LAFC will be without seven players due to international duty: defenders Diego Palacios and Walker Zimmerman, midfielders Eduard Atuesta, Mark-Anthony Kaye and Peter-Lee Vassell, and forwards Brian Rodriguez and Rodolfo Zelaya.

This past weekend, LAFC suffered its first regular season home loss, and just its fourth defeat of the year, after falling 2-0 against Minnesota United FC on Sunday night. Away from Banc of California Stadium, LAFC has a league-best eight wins from 14 matches, with an overall record of 8-3-3.

Meanwhile, Orlando returns home after falling 3-0 on the road against San Jose Earthquakes on August 31. The Lions currently hold the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference with a 9-13-7 record, and sit four points from the final playoff spot. Orlando (6-7-1) is one of four teams in MLS with a losing record at home.
