Los Angeles FC News Release

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) will be taking on reigning MLS Cup Champion Seattle Sounders FC tonight, August 30, at 7:00 p.m. PT at CenturyLink Field. The Club's away match will be broadcast live on FS1, FOX Deportes and on radio on the ESPN LA 710AM, ESPN App and KFWB 980 AM.

The Black and Gold will still be looking to bounce back from their first loss of the regular season after the Club's match on August 26 against Real Salt Lake was postponed in support of the players standing in solidarity with the Black community.

Tonight's contest will mark the fifth regular season meeting between the two sides, with LAFC undefeated in the series with a 3-0-1 regular season record against Seattle.

The Black & Gold opened the 25th MLS season with a 1-0 win over expansion side Inter Miami CF and a 3-3 draw against the Philadelphia Union before the season was suspended on March 12 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the MLS is Back Tournament, the Black & Gold were eliminated by Orlando City SC in the Quarterfinals by way of penalties, but not before picking up five regular season points in the group stage with draws against Houston Dynamo and Portland Timbers, and a win over the Galaxy. In the first game back of the latest MLS regular season restart, the Club suffered its first regular season loss of the year against the Galaxy. After five MLS matches, LAFC currently sits in fifth place in the Western Conference standings with a 2-1-3 record (9 points).
