Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) begins a two-game road trip on Friday, June 28 against the Colorado Rapids at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park. The Week 17 contest is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on UniMás, ESPN 710 AM, 980 AM 'La Mera Mera'.
Following a three-week break due to the Concacaf Gold Cup, LAFC will play its first regular season match since a 3-2 victory over the Portland Timbers on June 1. During the international break, the Black & Gold advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup following wins over Real Salt Lake (3-0 on June 11) and San Jose Earthquakes (3-1 on June 20).
Meanwhile, the Rapids produced their second consecutive road draw last weekend - a 2-2 tie against Vancouver Whitecaps on June 22. Colorado is currently 3-4-2 at home in 2019, earning all three wins in the last three games in Commerce City.
Last year, the Black & Gold earned a pair of shutout wins over the Rapids - defeating the Rocky Mountain Cup side 2-0 in Los Angeles on August 19 and 3-0 at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park on October 6. With the second victory, LAFC would clinch its first-ever postseason berth.
