
LAFC Eliminated from 2022 U.S. Open Cup After 3-1 Loss to LA Galaxy

LAFC was eliminated from the 2022 U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, falling 3-1 to LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA.
Carlos Vela was subbed out due to an injury in the 20th minute, and LAFC lost another starter to injury before halftime when Diego Palacios left after a hard collision.
The Galaxy got goals from Kévin Cabral (51'), Javier Hernandez (57') and Dejan Joveljić (81') to go up 3-0 before Ryan Hollingshead scored in the 85th minute for LAFC to make it 3-1.
The Black & Gold will be back in action on Saturday, May 28 when they host the San Jose Earthquakes. That game kicks off at 3:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast nationally on UniMás, TUDN, Twitter (English audio) and locally on ESPN 710 AM, ESPN LA App, and 980 AM La Mera La Mera.
The credential application for LAFC's home match vs. San Jose at Banc of California Stadium is now open - click here. The deadline to apply for the match is Thursday, May 26 at 3:00 p.m. PT. No applications will be accepted after this deadline.
LAFC will host a virtual and in-person media day ahead of the Saturday's match against San Jose on Friday, May 27 at approximately 11:50 a.m. PT with head coach Steve Cherundolo and select LAFC players.
