
LAFC Celebrates 2022 Supporters' Shield Championship After Final Regular Season Match

The 2022 Supporters' Shield Champions closed out the regular season schedule with a 1-0 loss at home to Nashville SC on Sunday afternoon.
LAFC conceded the lone goal of the match in the 53rd minute when Teal Bunbury put the visitors ahead with the game winner.
LAFC finishes the regular season with a 21-9-4 record and a league-best 67 points. The Black & Gold will enter the 2022 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs on Thursday, Oct. 20 when they host the Western Conference Semifinals at Banc of California Stadium against the winner of the LA Galaxy vs Nashville SC match taking place next weekend.

The team's 21 wins ties the club's all-time record for most single season wins set in 2019. This is the second time in LAFC's five-year history that they have won 20 or more games.
Cristian "Chicho" Arango and Kwadwo "Mahala" Opoku made appearances in all 34 2022 MLS regular season matches, bringing the total to seven players in LAFC history that have featured in every match in a single season
Today's result ended LAFC's nine-game home winning streak which ran from May 28 and Sept 18, 2022.
The 21st wins earned under the direction of Head Coach Steve Cherundolo set a new MLS record for most wins by a first-year head coach, surpassing Bob Bradley (1998 Chicago Fire) and Thomas Rongen (1996 Tampa Bay Mutiny) who both won 20 games in his first season as an MLS head coach.
