Earthquakes Face Seattle Sounders FC Today in Regular Season Finale

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes (8-15-10; 34 pts.) will face Seattle Sounders FC (12-17-4; 40 pts.) in their regular season finale at Lumen Field in Seattle, Wash. today at 2 p.m. PT. San Jose's final match of 2022 will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 (English) and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).

San Jose will enter the match after a 2-0 home victory over Minnesota United FC. Shea Salinas, who scored his 22nd MLS career goal, is now tied for ninth all-time in goals for the club. Salinas, who will retire at the end of the season, also leads the club in all-time assists against Sounders FC (4).

The Earthquakes are in search of their second win against Seattle this year after earning a come-from-behind 4-3 victory on April 23 at PayPal Park, thanks to a hat-trick by Cristian Espinoza. The Quakes have also won two of their last three matches against the Washington side (2-1-0).

Seattle Sounders FC currently sits in eleventh place in the Western Conference and carry a three-match unbeaten streak at home. Sounders FC are led by Peruvian forward Raul Ruidiaz, who has tallied a team-high nine goals in the season. Seattle is coming from a 1-0 defeat at Sporting Kansas City last Saturday, ending an MLS-record 13-year run of consecutive postseason appearances for them.
