LAFC Advances to Western Conference Final After Defeating Galaxy 5-3 on Thursday Night

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) earned its first postseason victory in Club history and advanced to the Western Conference Final with a 5-3 win over the Galaxy on Thursday night at Banc of California Stadium.

With the victory, LAFC advances to face the Seattle Sounders FC on Tuesday, October 29 at Banc of California Stadium. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. PT. Tickets will go on-sale to the general public on Friday, Oct. 25 at 12 p.m. on www.lafc.com.

Goals from Carlos Vela (2), Diego Rossi, and Adama Diomande (2) lifted the Black & Gold to its first-ever win over the Galaxy. The 2019 MLS Golden Boot winner scored the first of the night, and in the 10th consecutive game, just after the quarter mark when he cut the ball back and slotted a right footed shot to the far post.

Vela would double the lead in the 40th minute, tapping in his second an open net after a cross from Brian Rodriguez. The Galaxy answered back a minute later when Cristian Pavón's curling shot beat Tyler Miller. The visitors would then tie the game in the 55th minute as forward Zlatan Ibrahimović snuck a low shot through Miller's hands.

Ten minutes later, Rossi and Diomande tallied a pair of goals in a two-minute span (66', 68') to put LAFC back on top for good. After a Rolf Feltscher header to get another goal back for the Galaxy, Diomande would get his brace to cap off a wild eight-goal game.

The Western Conference Final vs. Seattle will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, ESPN 710 AM, 980 AM 'La Mera Mera.'
