
LA Galaxy to Unveil David Beckham Statue at Dignity Health Sports Park

LOS ANGELES (Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019) - The LA Galaxy will unveil a statue of legendary midfielder David Beckham and will induct the iconic player into the club's Ring of Honor on Saturday, March 2 at Dignity Health Sports Park when the club kicks off the 2019 MLS season against the Chicago Fire.
The #BeckhamStatue unveil, along with the brand-new Legends Plaza, will take place on Saturday, March 2 in a pregame ceremony, open to the public, at Dignity Health Sports Park beginning at 2:30 p.m. PT. Media interested in covering the event, which will be hosted by FOX commentator Rob Stone, and the match can RSVP by applying www.lagalaxy.com/credentials no later than Thursday, Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. PT. All fans interested in attending are encouraged to arrive no later than 2 p.m. PT.
Beckham's statue will mark the first of its kind in Major League Soccer. The artists responsible for capturing the essence of David Beckham are Julie and Omri Amrany, owners of the Fine Arts Studio of Rotblatt Amrany and Timeless Creations, Inc. Julie and Omri, whose work can be seen nationally and internationally, are known for their unique ability to capture movement and emotion. In the U.S., their sculptures include Michael Jordan in Chicago, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in Los Angeles, and Gordy Howe in Detroit, among others.
