LA Galaxy Select Ignacio Maganto in First Round of 2015 MLS SuperDraft

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015) - The LA Galaxy drafted forward Ignacio Maganto from Iona College with the 21 st selection in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.

Maganto, 23, spent four years at Iona College, where he scored 27 goals and notched 14 assists. His senior year, he scored a career-high 11 goals while recording five assists en route to being named to the NSCAA All-Northeast Region First Team, ECAC All-Star First Team and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Year.

Born in Madrid, Spain, Maganto spent time with Getafe CF before attending Iona University. He also was a member of Reading United A.C. in PDL PRO in 2014.
