LA Galaxy Acquire Third Allocation Ranking from Colorado Rapids

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015) - The LA Galaxy have acquired the third allocation ranking and allocation money from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for midfielder Marcelo Sarvas and an international roster spot, the club announced today. Per MLS and club policy, specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We thank Marcelo for all of his contributions to our team over the past three seasons," Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena said. "We wish Marcelo the best of luck in Colorado."

Sarvas, 33, signed with the Galaxy in 2011, making 88 appearances with 19 goals and 9 assists as a member of the Galaxy, winning MLS Cups in 2012 and 2014. The Brazilian midfielder previously played for Liga Deportiva Alajuelense in Costa Rica.
