LA Galaxy prepare for Fourth of July clash with Toronto FC

LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy (10-7-1, 31 points) are back at home this week, facing Toronto FC (6-7-5, 23 points) at 7:30 p.m. PT on Thursday, July 4 at Dignity Health Sports Park (Spectrum SportsNet). Since their first season in 1996, the Galaxy have played every July 4 match at home.

The LA Galaxy are 6-5-6 all-time against Toronto FC. The Galaxy went 0-1-0 against Toronto in 2018, ultimately losing 5-3 in a high-scoring encounter at Toronto's BMO Field. During the match, LA Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the 500th goal of his career.

The Galaxy began the second half of the season last weekend with a 3-0 defeat in the latest installation of the California Clásico, losing to the San Jose Earthquakes at Stanford Stadium. The Galaxy remain in second place in the Western Conference, and will look to bounce back in their Fourth of July clash with Toronto FC. The Galaxy will host their 24th Annual Fourth of July fireworks show after the match, the longest running Fourth of July fireworks show in all of professional sports.
