LA Galaxy Participate in Read Across America with Launch of Kick Start Reading Challenge Through 20

From March 2-6, LA Galaxy's 20 for Twenty program saw the Galaxy visit five Los Angeles area schools to participate in National Education's Association's Read Across America as they launched the Galaxy's Kick Start Reading Challenge, which encourages reading among students in Los Angeles Schools for an opportunity to win Galaxy prizes and giveaways.
LA Galaxy mascot Cozmo, former Galaxy star Cobi Jones, LA Galaxy Star Squad and various Galaxy front office members all visited schools during the week to read Dr. Suess books to students. While there, the Galaxy also launched the third-annual LA Galaxy Kick Start Reading Challenge, which saw 2,000 local elementary school students register in under a week.
The Galaxy also gave students the opportunity to attend the team's opening match for the 2015 MLS season, leaving 40 tickets at each school.
The Galaxy visited Fifty Second Elementary School, Los Angeles Elementary School, Baca Arts Academy and Lomita Magnet Elementary School throughout the week. Los Angeles Unified School District will be honored as the Galaxy's Community Partner of the Match when the team faces the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, June 6.
