LA Galaxy News Release
CARSON, Calif. (Monday, April 7, 2014) - The LA Galaxy (1-1-1, 4 points) will look for their second victory of the season when they host Vancouver Whitecaps FC (2-1-2, 8 points) at StubHub Center on Saturday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. PT live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes. The Galaxy enter their fourth match of the season following an impressive 3-0 victory over Chivas USA Sunday afternoon at StubHub Center. It was the Galaxy's 19th victory over their in-stadium rivals. Since 2008, the Galaxy have gone 12-1-4 in SuperClasico matches.
The Galaxy have never lost to Whitecaps FC at StubHub Center and have only suffered one loss to the Canadian side since the club's MLS debut in 2011. The Galaxy are 4-0-0, having scored 10 goals and only allowed one in matches played in California. All-time, the Galaxy are 6-1-1 against the Western Conference foe.
Galaxy captain Robbie Keane continued his torrid goal-scoring pace in MLS, notching his second goal of the season and second in consecutive league fixtures. Keane has 36 goals and 22 assists in 58 MLS appearances since joining the Galaxy in 2011.
Landon Donovan remains on 134 MLS regular season goals and sits just one goal shy of the League's all-time regular season goals record. Donovan has tallied four goals, the most of any Galaxy player, against Whitecaps FC.
