LA Galaxy II Host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC Saturday

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, May 29, 2015) - LA Galaxy II will host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m. at StubHub Center's Track & Field Stadium in what will mark the first-ever USL contest between the two sides. The match will be shown live on www.lagalaxy.com with Time Warner SportsNet announcer Joe Tutino calling all of the action.

The game Saturday will feature $2 tacos from Chancho's Tacos, $2 beer, free parking for all fans and free entrance for fans ages 12 and under with select LA Galaxy Season Ticket Members having season tickets to Galaxy II home matches.

The match is the first time-ever the Galaxy face Colorado Springs in a USL contest. The clubs will face two more times this season, with both matches taking place in Colorado.

Switchbacks FC, led by head coach Steve Trittschuh, have started the season 4-4-0 in their inaugural USL campaign. They are led by Luke Vercollone with five goals and three assists on the season. Colorado Springs is coming off a dominant 5-0 win over Arizona United SC on May 23 at Sand Creek Stadium

Galaxy II are led by forward Ariel Lassiter, who has recorded a team-high four goals on the season, and midfielder Raul Mendiola with a USL-leading seven assists during the regular season campaign. Los Dos will look to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to the Ventura County Fusion last week in the second round of the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, in which a last-second goal from the visitors knocked Galaxy II out of the tournament.
