LA Galaxy Head North of the Border to Take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, April 14, 2014) - The LA Galaxy (2-1-1, 7 points) head north of the border to take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC (2-2-2. 8 points) at BC Place on Saturday, April 19 at 4:00 p.m. PT live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes. It will be the Galaxy's second consecutive match against Whitecaps FC. In the first meeting of the back-to-back, home-and-home fixtures the Galaxy upended the visitors 1-0 on the strength of Robbie Keane's 47th minute strike. Saturday's match marks the start of the Galaxy's longest road swing. The Galaxy will travel to Vancouver, Colorado, Portland and Houston before returning home to StubHub Center Wednesday, May 21 to host FC Dallas at 7:30 p.m. PT.

The Galaxy improved their dominance over the Canadian side at home, moving to 5-0-0 against Whitecaps FC at StubHub Center Saturday night. In all, the Galaxy have only suffered one loss to Whitecaps FC since the club's MLS debut in 2011, a 3-1 defeat at BC Place May 11, 2013. All-time, the Galaxy are 7-1-1 against the Western Conference foe outscoring them 19 goals to six.

Galaxy captain Robbie Keane continued his hot start to the season, notching his third goal of the season and third in consecutive league fixtures. Keane has 37 goals and 22 assists in 59 MLS appearances since joining the Galaxy in 2011.

The wait continues for Landon Donovan who remains on 134 MLS regular season goals and sits just one goal shy of the League's all-time regular season goals record. Donovan has tallied four goals, the most of any Galaxy player, against Whitecaps FC.
